violence-related incidents posted to the Incidents section of the Center's
Web site:
"A Louisiana Tech [University] student involved with a campus gun rights
organization was arrested at Wal-Mart on Wednesday night..."
"A combination of alcohol and prescription drugs led to the death of an
18-year-old student in a dormitory at Indiana University of Pennsylvania..."
"Chemicals used to manufacture drugs were found in an apartment that houses
hundreds of University of Virginia students near the school's main
campus..."
"The mother and stepfather of [a University of Colorado freshman fraternity
pledge] who died in a binge-drinking incident on a Colorado mountaintop in
2004, have reached a settlement with the fraternity that they contend
provoked his death as part of a hazing ritual..."
"A Grand Valley State University student shot during a police drug raid at
his off-campus apartment in Allendale is out of a Grand Rapids hospital..."
"A reported gun theft ended in a police chase and five preliminary felony
charges for a non-traditional Ball State University student who has already
served prison time, according to police reports..."
"A 22-year-old Miami University student was allegedly caught with drugs in
his pocket and alcohol in his system when police saw him traveling on High
street [sic] without headlights in the early hours of March 15..."
"University of Houston police are searching for three men they believe may
have sexually assaulted another man at one of the school's housing
facilities Tuesday, authorities said today..."
"Officer...of the [Massachusetts Institute of Technology] Police was
arrested in uniform in East Boston on Saturday night for trafficking in
prescription painkillers..."
"One of the [University of Arizona's] largest fraternities has been kicked
off campus after several purported hazing and alcohol violations, while a
