The following contains a summary of alcohol, other drug, and
violence-related incidents posted to the Incidents section of the
Center's Web site:
"The [Fairfield University] senior and a group of friends crossed paths
with a cluster of University of Rhode Island students participating in a
pub crawl to celebrate their own graduation. A fight ensued and [he] was
soon dead, crushed under the wheel of a school bus carrying the students
on their bar tour... [His] parents are suing two former URI
students...who they say scuffled with their son, causing his death"
"A University of New Hampshire student has been indicted on multiple
drug charges alleging he sold marijuana to an undercover officer on four
occasions..."
"Phi Kappa Psi has been banished from the University of Rhode Island for
18 months, after a fraternity brother was charged with felony drug
dealing in December..."
"An alleged assault on a [The College of New Jersey] student in her
off-campus home early Sunday caused Ewing Township Police to alert
College officials, who sent out a mass e-mail notifying students of an
'attempted rape and robbery...'"
"Following a brief car chase through Oxford in the early morning hours
of Jan. 24, police arrested a 20-year-old Miami University student for
poor driving and a fake ID..."
"The former Northwestern University student accused of delivering
alcohol to a minor resulting in the minor's death was indicted Tuesday
at the Skokie Branch of the Cook County Circuit Court..."
"Two Florida A&M University fraternity members pleaded no contest this
morning in Leon Circuit Court to felony charges of hazing another
student more than two years ago..."
"State police say it could be several weeks before
accident-reconstruction investigators reach any conclusions in the
wrong-way accident on Interstate 495 that claimed the life of a
[University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth student] and Worcester
man...[with] an extensive list of motor vehicle infractions, including
seven speeding citations and a drunken driving arrest..."
"An 18-year-old Carl Sandburg College student told police [a Black Hawk
College student] raped her in a bathroom during [a] party..."
"Three [Indiana University] students were hoping to drink Crown Royal,
Jagermeister and Amaretto for free Saturday night..."
