The following contains a summary of alcohol, other drug, and
violence-related incidents posted to the Incidents section of the
Center's Web site:
"Two University of Maine at Farmington students were arrested Thursday
night after drug enforcement agents and police seized an indoor
marijuana-growing operation at the home of one of the students'
parents..."
"Police say [a] 22-year-old [Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State
University graduate student] was decapitated with a kitchen knife while
having coffee with a Chinese doctoral student in a campus cafe Wednesday
night..."
"A Keene State College student was arrested on drug charges after a
three-month police investigation into drug dealing on the college
campus..."
"Autopsy results released Wednesday by San Luis Obispo police showed
very high amounts of alcohol in the body of...the 18-year-old
[California Polytechnic State University] student who died after
attending a fraternity party last month..."
"Florida's Fourth District Court of Appeals agrees that an alleged drug
dealer in Vero Beach shouldn't be held accountable on a first-degree
murder charge in the death of a local college student who died of a
methadone overdose in Indian River County in 2005..."
"Oxford's Drug and Alcohol Enforcement Unit was busy over the weekend,
seizing two pounds of marijuana, approximately $6,000 in cash and
several dozen pieces of drug paraphernalia during a series of drug
busts... Nine subjects were arrested in connection with three separate
raids, at least four of whom were Miami University students..."
"... a 26-year-old law student at Quinnipiac University serving his
second stint as a judicial branch intern, was arrested Tuesday at around
9:15 a.m. Marshals found [he] had marijuana on him as he was trying to
enter Stamford Superior Court, according to the lawyer he was assigned
to assist, public defender..."
"A [University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee] student was sexually assaulted in
her off-campus apartment on Saturday morning, according to Milwaukee
police. The accused attacker was arrested within an hour of the
assault..."
"[University of] Arkansas freshman forward...was arrested Sunday morning
on several traffic-related charges, including driving while intoxicated,
and was suspended indefinitely from the Razorbacks' basketball team..."
"A 20-year-old University of Georgia student who tried to drive home
after a night of drinking passed out at a stop sign Sunday with the car
still running, police said..."
