Updated: Addressees for Distribution of NOAA Alert Radios

On Thursday, August 21, 2008, a HEC/Alert was issued regarding the
distribution of NOAA Public Alert Weather Radios, directing readers to
the NOAA Alert Radios and Conference Calls section of the Center's Web
site: http://www.higheredcenter.org/priorities/noaa-radio.

Please note that there has been an update to the addressees of the
radios. At higher education institutions presidents/administrators will
receive the radios, not campus security, as originally noted.

The Higher Education Center news service (HEC/News) is provided by the
U.S. Department of Education's Higher Education Center for Alcohol and
Other Drug Abuse and Violence Prevention as a way to disseminate news
and information related to alcohol and other drug abuse and violence
prevention on campus and in surrounding communities. Through its Office
of Safe and Drug-Free Schools, the Department funds the Center under
contract number ED-04-CO-0137. The contracting officer's representative
is Richard Lucey, Jr. The content of HEC/News does not necessarily
reflect the views or policies of the U.S. Department of Education, nor
does the mention of trade names, commercial products, or organizations
imply endorsement by the U.S. government.
