- ED Model Programs Grant Applications Now Available -

As announced in the Federal Register on April 1, 2008, applications are
now available for the U.S. Department of Education's new grant
competition: Models of Exemplary, Effective, and Promising Alcohol or
Other Drug Abuse Prevention Programs on College Campuses.

The goals of this program are to identify and disseminate information
about exemplary and effective alcohol or other drug abuse prevention
programs implemented on college campuses. Through this grant program,
the U.S. Department of Education also will recognize institutions of
higher education (IHEs) whose programs, while not yet exemplary or
effective, show evidence that they are promising. IHEs that offer an
associate or baccalaureate degree have until May 19, 2008, to apply for
grants estimated to range from $125,000-$175,000.

For more information, please visit the Grant Info section of the
Center's Web site.

Please note: This alert will also be highlighted in today's This Week!
feature.
