The Higher Education Center is pleased to make the following
announcements:

1) 29TH CONFERENCE ON LAW AND HIGHER EDUCATION

The Center for Excellence in Higher Education Law and Policy at Stetson
University College of Law and National Association of Student Personnel
Administrators (NASPA) are co-sponsoring the 29th National Conference on
Law and Higher Education, February 17-19, 2008, in Clearwater Beach,
Florida. There will also be a pre-conference February 16, entitled
"Campus Security 2010" and a post-conference February 20, entitled
"Future Trends in American Higher Education Law and Policy." The early
bird registration fee is $625 and ends today, January 11; however, you
may receive the early bird rate if you register online or via fax by
midnight, Eastern Time. After today, the regular registration fee is
$705. Student and group rates are available.

The National Conference on Law and Higher is designed to facilitate
interdisciplinary discussion among attorneys and a wide variety of
higher education professionals and provides unique insights into
cutting-edge law and policy issues. This year's features include a
plenary presentation by Dr. Howard Gardner, the John H. and Elisabeth A.
Hobbs Professor of Cognition and Education at the Harvard Graduate
School of Education and myriad high-quality concurrent presentations.
Programs will cover updates and information about alcohol and other drug
prevention, Clery Act, FERPA, employment law, Greek life, immigration
law, judicial affairs, higher education legislation, higher education
litigation, study abroad, responding to the MySpace and YouTube
generation, special issues for Academic Deans, and mental health and the
college student.
