1) WEBINAR - LAWSUITS AND LIABILITY: SHOULD I BE LOSING SLEEP?
The Consortium of Student Affairs Associations is hosting a Webinar,
"Lawsuits and Liability: Should I Be Losing Sleep?," November 13, 2007,
1:00 p.m. - 2:30 p.m., Eastern. The registration fee is $89 for
sponsoring association student members, $179 for sponsoring association
members, and $279 for nonmembers.
This Webinar will feature a panel of expert attorneys who will explain
the potential for liability, both civil and criminal, personal and
institutional, in various scenarios faced by members of the student
affairs community at institutions of higher education. Topics addressed
will include how potential employee civil liability can arise in a
variety of cases, including those involving hazing, sexual assault,
student suicide and study abroad issues. Panelists will provide cases
and scenarios that illustrate the various challenges faced in addressing
these many issues. Participants will hear practical avoidance strategies
and tips to integrate into their daily work with students in colleges
and universities.

2) THE NCHERM BEHAVIORAL INTERVENTION AND THREAT ASSESSMENT INSTITUTE
Kean University is hosting The National Center for Higher Education Risk
Management's regional seminar, "Behavioral Intervention and Threat
Assessment Institute," December 7-8, 2007, in Union, New Jersey. The
registration fee is $499.99.
Participants will follow an intensive curriculum, with accompanying
materials from each presenter and will carry away practical strategies,
structures and advice for behavioral interventions that can immediately
be implemented on campus.

The National Association of Student Personnel Administrators is looking

must be made by a NASPA member no later than November 1, 2007.
