1) NATIONAL MEETING TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE SESSIONS AVAILABLE
Staff from the Higher Education Center for Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse
and Violence Prevention will be providing brief, individual information
and assistance sessions at the 21st Annual National Meeting on Alcohol
and Other Drug Abuse and Violence Prevention in Higher Education. Topics
of assistance relate to every stage of alcohol, other drugs, and
violence (AODV) prevention program planning, ranging from problem
identification and strategic planning to evaluation to fine-tuning your
existing AODV programming on campus and in the community.

2) ACTIV8
The Lighthouse Violence Prevention & Intervention Center at the
University of Central Missouri is hosting the ACTIV8 Conference, October
12-13, 2007, on the university's campus in Warrensburg, MO. The
registration fee is $50 for students and $70 for professionals.
This is an up beat, motivational conference designed to encourage
student leadership in violence prevention work on college campuses, with
an emphasis on men and women working together to end gender violence.

3) AMERICAN MEDICAL ASSOCIATION WEB CAST AND EXPERT PANEL

Cast and Expert Panel," October 23, 2007, 12:00-1:00 P.M. (Central).

4) NASPA STRATEGIES CONFERENCE 2008 CALL FOR PROGRAMS
The National Association of Student Personnel Administrators is pleased
to announce a call for programs for the NASPA Strategies Conference
2008, " Alcohol Abuse Prevention Conference," January 17-19, 2008, at
the Tampa Marriott Waterside Hotel & Marina in Tampa, FL.
The conference will bring together senior-level campus administrators,
prevention and education staff and researchers from the alcohol and
other drug arena to focus on advancing knowledge and information sharing
about alcohol and other drug use on colleges and universities. Posters
and programs should represent practices from diverse institutions
including large public, small colleges, community colleges and HBCU, HSI
and ISI institutions. Please note the program proposal deadline is
November 2, 2007.
