1) COMMUNITY POLICING DEVELOPMENT 2007 GRANT PROGRAM (CPD 2007)
The COPS Office is pleased to announce the availability of funding under
the COPS Community Policing Development (CPD) Program 2007. Under this
program, the COPS Office will be seeking applications to fund a variety
of initiatives designed to advance the practice of community policing
nationwide. Proposed projects should be of national relevance and not
solely for the benefit of one or a select number of law enforcement
agencies. The solicitation should be of particular interest to profit
and non-profit institutions, educational institutions, community groups,
and faith-based organizations.

2) PREVENTION CONNECTION WEB DIALOGUE
The Prevention Connection is hosting a Web dialogue, "The Health Care
Sector: A Dialogue on Organizational Practices to Prevent Violence
Against Women," Friday, June 22, 2007, 2:00 to 3:30 p.m. Eastern Time.
This Web dialogue will be an in-depth, follow-up conversation to the May
3, 2007, Prevention Connection Web conference, "Organizational Practices
and Violence Against Women: Implications for Prevention." The session
will highlight specific organizational practices from the health care
sector to promote primary prevention of violence against women.
Presenters include Larry Cohen and Greta Tubbesing from Prevention
Institute.
