A message from U.S. Secretary of Education Margaret Spellings regarding
<br />
the recent White House Conference on School Safety.
<br />

As a follow-up to the recent White House Conference on School Safety,
<br />
please see this cover letter (http://tinyurl.com/y2nlop) and "message"
<br />
(http://tinyurl.com/twxy2) from the U.S. Department of Education
<br />
Secretary Margaret Spellings. The Department also invites you to
<br />
participate in an upcoming live Web cast - tentatively planned for
<br />
mid-November - to review crisis planning and learn how schools can
<br />
mitigate, prevent, prepare for, respond to and recover from a crisis.
<br />
Details for the Web cast, including registration, how to send in
<br />
questions, and the agenda, will be forthcoming (via future HEC/Alerts).
<br />

In the meantime, please refer to the Practical Information on Crisis
<br />
Planning brochure for more information on emergency crisis planning.
