HEC/Alert: U.S. Department of Education announces 2005 grantees

The U.S. Dept of Education announced today, June 13, 2005, 20 new
grantees under the 2005 Grant Competition to Prevent High-Risk Drinking
or Violent Behavior Among College Students.

Conducted this spring, the grant competition's goal was to provide funds
to individual institutions of higher education, consortia thereof,
public and private organizations, and individuals to develop or enhance,
implement, and evaluate campus- and/or community-based prevention and
early intervention strategies. The new grantees will focus attention on
and develop solutions to prevent and reduce high-risk drinking or
violent behavior among college students.
