Los Angeles will host the 4th and last of the 2002 POWER OF PREVENTION
REGIONAL CONFERENCES. The Theme for the Regional Conference is Connecting
and Leveraging Local Prevention Resources to Maximize Services and
Outcomes. This Regional Conference will have training workshops to build
the skills of prevention practitioners as well as increase the knowledge of
participants about the resources available to support their local
prevention efforts as well as the invaluable resources they represent for
each other. Workshops will be conducted that provide information on Best
Practices and Strategies as well as funding resources available.
The Pacific, Hawaii, Northwest Alaska Regional Conference for the States of
Utah, Montana, South Dakota, North Dakota, Idaho, California, Hawaii,
Nevada, Arizona, Washington, Oregon and Alaska will be held on September
23-25, 2002 at the Manhattan Beach Marriot located at 1400 Parkview Avenue
in the beautiful city of Manhattan Beach, California. The hotel number to
reserve a room during the conference is 1-800-228-9290. To register for
the conference, one may register on-line at http://www.safb.org/. Click on
the 2000 Power of Prevention Regional Conference to register. There are no
conference registration fees charged for this conference.
