We notify parents when our students go on probation through a letter. It
is usually their second or third violation depending on severity,
sometimes it could be their first. We allow one violation with marijuana
and we notify then if they violate that.
Most of the time we are very lucky where our students have already told
their parents, but we always encourage them to do so. We send the letter
when our students sign for their paperwork (when they agree to their
terms and sanctions without appeal) and then send. Usually 2 or 3 days
after we meet with them judicially.
Also, our dean will call if they are sent out in an ambulance.
