Marketing and Training Manager
The Children of Alcoholics Foundation (COAF) and the American Council for
Drug Education (ACDE), the prevention affiliates of Phoenix House, are
seeking a full-time Marketing and Training Manager for both organizations.
The Marketing and Training Manager will be responsible for:
* Developing and conducting training in Phoenix House regions
(NY, CA, TX, FL, New England) and other parts of the country in areas such
as parental substance abuse, substance abuse prevention and education, and
problem drinking.
* Networking with other organizations in the substance abuse
prevention and treatment field, including government and state agencies,
advocacy groups, and other key contacts. This will entail developing
listservs, making personal contacts, developing and delivering
presentations, and other entrepreneurial approaches.
* Marketing and disseminating ACDE and COAF programs,
projects, and materials with the goals of increased sales, widespread
distribution, and greater name recognition
* Training community members and professionals such as social
workers, college substance abuse prevention professionals, kinship care
professionals, educators, and others on COAF and ACDE programs. Training
will include developing curriculum and planning, advertising, and delivering
trainings.
* Proposal writing and other development and fundraising
activities including external relationship building with private foundations
and government agencies
The ideal candidate will have at least three years of professional work
history, familiarity with substance abuse and family issues, have experience
developing and delivering trainings, and strong marketing and public
relations skills. S/he will have excellent oral and written presentation
skills, be high-energy, creative, and entrepreneurial. S/he will also be
proficient in such programs as Microsoft Word, Excel, FrontPage and Outlook.
Candidate must be willing to travel.
The position will begin in June, and is based in New York City’s Upper West
Side.
