I've been getting many inquiries about the two Summer Internships available
with the FACTS ON TAP Program, so I thought I'd send more info to address
everyone's questions at once. Hope this helps those of you who are
interested:
* The internships will take place at Phoenix House headquarters in New York
City on Manhattan's Upper West Side (74th Street and Amsterdam Avenue).
* Applicant's résumés with cover letters MUST BE MAILED to the address given
in the job description (see below for a repost of the description). PLEASE
DO NOT EMAIL OR FAX résumés AND COVER LETTERS.
* Room, board, and travel expenses are not reimbursable. Room and board is
not available and must be arranged by the applicants.
* The Internships are full-time and run from June 11th to August 17th.
Applicants must be available for the entire length of the position.
* Undergraduate students are welcome and encouraged to apply
* Stipend amount is $3,500 per internship

Phoenix House's prevention affiliates, the American Council for Drug
Education (ACDE) and the Children of Alcoholics Foundation (COAF) seek two
full-time interns to work on the national college alcohol abuse prevention
program, Facts on Tap. Applicants should be interested in peer education,
heavy drinking and drug use issues, and working with a college audience.
Tasks will include refreshing existing databases and generating new
databases, facilitating focus groups, project and website review and
analysis, and other project specific tasks. These paid internships will
begin June 11, 2001 and run through August 17, 2001.
Applicants should:
* Be self-starters
* Be energetic
* Have an advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
* Have a very basic knowledge of Microsoft FrontPage
* Be thoroughly familiar with the Internet and be able to navigate it easily
