The New York Times had a cover article about changing tactics of college
regarding binge drinking. It discussed how dispite efforts to portray
drinking as "bad" with inages of drunked students covered in vomit, etc,
it could be seen as counter productive because it labelled drinking in
college as right of passage, which could perhaps explain why binge
drinking levels have not gone down despite these programs.
Very interesting article, probably accessible through
http://www.nytimes.com
if anyone is interested.
