Position Announcement
Assistant Director of Research
Phoenix House Foundation is searching for candidates to fill the position of
Assistant Director of Research at its headquarters in New York City.
The successful candidate will develop research proposals directed to testing
innovations in treatment at one of the country's largest non-profit
providers of therapeutic community treatment services. This person will
design and direct research studies in cooperation with university based
researchers. Job Description:
Responsibilities
* Plan, design and direct research directed at improving the treatment of
adolescent and adult drug users in community therapeutic settings;
* Develop an annual research budget;
* Work in collaboration with university researchers to submit competitive
research proposals for funding.
Qualifications
* Requirements include a Ph.D. in one of the behavioral sciences;
* Good writing skills;
* Experience in working on problems of evaluating services for addicted,
criminal or mentally ill populations;
* Successful experience in grant proposal development may be substituted for
the degree requirement.
Location
* New York City.
Salary
* Competitive for New York City area depending on education and experience.

Position Announcement
Research Associate
Position Description
This position involves working as part of a research team providing relevant
policy and management analyses for one of the largest drug abuse treatment
systems for adolescent and adult drug dependent individuals in the United
States. The occupant of this position will work in collaboration with
University and other research groups and senior managers to develop
understanding of the treatment process. This may lead to proposals for
innovative management activities leading to additional outside funding. The
position is in New York City at the headquarters of the Phoenix House
Foundation.
Requirements
Requirements include a degree (Ph.D. preferred) in one of the behavioral or
quantitative sciences, with experience in analyzing large data sets and good
writing skills. Experience in working on problems of evaluating services for
addicted, criminal or mentally ill populations highly desirable. Successful
experience in health policy and management studies may be substituted for
the degree requirement.
